In Uganda, the maternal mortality
rate is 438 per 100,000 live births. Twins in Uganda are seen as a blessing. In
the above article, the parents who gave birth to twins were denied right to
their second child. The parents were told that the second twin had died but
were not allowed to see the body of the baby or even see their medical records.
After three days the parents were given the body of a dead baby which DNA
records proved was not even theirs.
Apparently,
what had happened to these parents is not uncommon in Uganda. It is known that
babies are sometimes stolen from hospitals or even given the wrong baby,
sometimes deceased. It is sad that what had happened to these parents is not
uncommon and now makes them never want to deliver a baby in a hospital again.Click Here to Read the Article
